Quentin Flannery

Quentin Flannery’s experience across the resources sector was firmly set in stone during his tenure at Yancoal Australia Limited (ASX:YAL), where he was initially appointed as one of the youngest marketing managers in the Australian coal sector, with responsibility for $1BN in revenue. As the Global Head of Thermal Coal Sales, he played an active role in expanding Yancoal’s presence in China and across Asia, ultimately helping build the business to become Australia’s largest listed pure-play coal producer.

Today, Quentin is a Director of several family companies, where he oversees all strategy and trading for the investment portfolio with a strong focus on resources and energy investing and trading. Quentin is also a Director of Elysian Capital, an emerging hedge fund focused on weather-based commodity trading.

Quentin sits on the board of several start-ups and rapid growth businesses, including market-leading Asian commerce business AuMake International (ASX:AU8), NSW energy supplier Sunset Power International, thermal coal mining company Delta Coal, and medical device start-up, Field Orthopaedics.

Quentin is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and holds a Bachelor of International Studies, Chinese Language from Queensland University of Technology.

Philanthropically, Quentin is Director of the family’s charity arm, the Flannery Foundation, which donates to around 30 charities in Australia, and is passionate about his role as corporate ambassador for Australian charity, Act for Kids.
